Football madness!

In the airport...can't believe we are going to see them in person!
Playing with a French girl
Barca...Barca...BARCA!

Excited family

Today in the morning we left Mallorca.  When we were waiting for the plane, I was juggling these two balls from the cereal box and all these French girls were watching me.  It was kinda weird. Then one came over and started playing with me! When we got back we chilled at the flat for a bit and then left for the best moment ever!  We were leaving for the Barca vs. Real Madrid soccer game!  There were sooooo many people there!!!  100,000 people were blowing their horns, yelling, chanting, screaming.  And that was before we even went into the stadium!!!  It was cool inside the stadium because we saw them cleaning the field and when you looked up you could see the sky.  Oh I forgot!  The game started at 10:30...AT NIGHT!  We were sitting right by the net so we could see if someone scored.  For the whole first half there were no goals, not a single one :(  The second half started off with a nice, clean goal from Madrid.  It was Ronaldo who scored! A minute after Ronaldo scored Pedro scored for Barca and the crowd went crazy!  Then Xavi scored for Barcelona.  Then Messi scored off a penalty kick for Barca.  Then it was 3-1.  But then just before the game was about to end Madrid scored another one, but it was too late and BARCA won!  Woo hoo!  After the game there were so many people that no one could get a taxi and the metro was closed so we decided to stop and eat an ice cream even though it was almost 1 o'clock in the morning.  We kept waiting and waiting and walking around trying to find a way home and we didn't even get home until after 3 o'clock in the morning!!!! Then we went to bed straight away!

Jumping off cliffs

The Little Black One at the Monastery

The walk to the beach

Thinking about it...

Jumping into the sea

25 feet down...YEEHAW!
Today we had another wonderful day in Mallorca.  In the morning we went to the Monastery de Lluc to see the blue choir boys sing, but they had already finished so we just looked around the church.  In the church there is a statue of the "Little Black One".  The story goes that the little black statue kept moving to different spots and finally the people built the church around it. That's a cool fact!  I was super hot up at the monastery and was happy to go back to the beach.  On our way to the beach our floatie popped :(  Instead of buying a new one, my mom bought us each a net and a bucket to go fishing.  On the way there we saw a big place to cliff jump into the water so we decided to do it too.  First I went from a medium high cliff, then a higher spot, then a higher spot and then finally I jumped from the top!  It was so so fun!  And very high!  When we got to the beach we went to try and catch fish by feeding them graham crackers.  There were tons of fish swimming around but we weren't really good enough to catch one.  Then I went to my towel to take a rest.  And Mia came back with the bucket and there was the tiniest fish you could catch!  It was so cool!  We let it go right away so it would still live.  Then I played with some English kids and we gave them our fishing nets when we left because we couldn't take them with us and we were leaving in the morning.  Then we walked home and Grumps bought us an ice cream on the way.  After a swim in the pool we went to a seafood restaurant and ate seafood!  Then we went home to bed.

Formentor

Cap de Formentor
The healing sands at the beach
My new Italian friend.  I have no idea what his name was!
Sandcastle

Today we went to a cool lookout close to a beach that was at the northernmost point of Mallorca. It was REALLY hot so I was very happy to get to the beach (Playa del Formentor). At the beach it was awesome except for the water smelled bad :(and made me itchy.  We found out that the smell was something called sulfur that makes your body feel good so we covered my Dad in a whole bunch and then he got up and chased us. Okay after I took a little swim then I started to itch so I poured some fresh water on me. Then we had sandwiches :) Then I played paddle ball with a kid I met who was from Italy. Then we played soccer and basketball.  When we left the beach we went to the port of Pollenca and saw a guy making a super cool sandcastle.  Then we went back to the house and took a dip in our pool and went to bed.

The playa in Cala

Look how clear the water is!

At dinner
This morning we went to the beach. At the beach my dad got a floatie and goggles. When I went out far in the water I could look under and see a thousand fish! The water is so clear we got confused at first and thought there was no water left in the ocean!!  It is soooo bea-u-ti-ful! Also at the beach we collected sea glass. Then we went home and took a dip in the pool at our rental villa to get the salt water of of us. Again the water was so clear we thought the pool was empty - but it was full and so deep at one end it is tough to touch the bottom.  We saw a rope and thought it was a rope swing but after we played on it for awhile Fransisco (the manager) told us it was to separate us from the place next door. Whoops!  Then we went out for dinner.  At the restaurant I had noodles and salad. Then we went home and went to bed.

Mallorca is magical!

Let's get cool in the pool!

Waiting for a table (at 10 o'clock at night!)
This morning we left Barcelona and took a plane to Mallorca.  Oh yeah yeah!  The flight there was on Air Berlin and they gave us free food and it only took 25 minutes to get there.  It was going to take 6 hours if we took the ferry!  When we got there we drove to our place in Cala Sant Vincent.  It has a pool!  We went for a swim as soon as we got there.  The pool was muy bien! Then we walked down to some restaurants and got some dinner.  I got really tired so Dad took me home and we went swimming again.  Then it was time for bed.

And the winner is...

The cowboy street - Verdi West
Street dance
The human towers were super cool!
Today we figured out the winning places for the festival.  In first place was Verdi West.  In second place was the circus street and third place was....music street. I was surprised that Star Wars didn't make a place!!!!!!!!!! :( After we looked at all the streets again.  Then we went out to a hip hop workshop that was really fun.  After the routine they did a dance circle and I went in twice.  The first time I did the worm and the second time I walked on my hands.  Then we went and saw the human towers which is all these people who stack up in the air at least seven or eight people high!!!  WOW!!!  While we were walking home we saw a store right by our house that might have Dunnys.  We went in and looked around and then I said, "Hey Dad!  Dunnys!"  We didn't really recognize them and I thought the man said they were designed by "Dali" which I thought was strange because my dad said he was dead a long time ago.  It turns out he was saying "Dalek" and after I researched on the internet I realized it was different Dunnys.  The only reason the man still has them is because he refuses to sell on the internet and most people in Spain don't know Dunnys.  I am hoping my parents buy me a couple for my birthday! That night my daddy took me and Mia out to see some of the musical bands playing in the festival and then we went to bed.

Amigos

Artoro and I at the Music and Dance street

Gelatos con mis amigos

This is La Pedrera where my parents went to the jazz show.  Cool!
Today we went to camp and played soccer and baseball.  We also went out with the camp to go to the Gracia Festival.  After camp Marcella and Artoro (our friends from camp) came over to play. When they were over Artoro and I played Firegirl and Waterboy on the laptop.  Then we played some Pokemon. After that we went outside and played tag with the girls and played soccer.  We decided to go out and look at the streets for the festival and my mom took us all for a gelato.  When we got back Marcella and Artoro had to go.  When they left we stayed home and my parents and Grumps and Nat went at night to Gaudi's roof top to listen to a jazz band. They said they loved it and that we would think the designs were really cool. When they got back we were fast asleep!

This morning we went back to camp and we played some soccer and went swimming.  We also went bowling.  I was the third person to get a goal in soccer out of the whole group!!!  Then we went home for lunch.  After lunch Nat, Mom, Mia and I went out walking while my dad got some work done.  First we took an elevator to the top of the Hotel Casa Fuster where there was a pool and an amazing view.  Then we got a gelato and went to a plaza to watch a concert.  There were these messed-up singers with flowers on their suits who kept telling everybody to spin around and do the boogie.  It was for little kids!  Then we looked at the Freaks and Geeks street where there was a cardboard dude tightroping on a wire above that was cool.  There was a cardboard girl with fake knives around her, like a knife throwing station.  Actually everything was made out of cardboard.  All the streets make their own decorations out of recycled materials. Then we went to Star Wars in the day and it was sooooo cool!  There was a Yoda and a fire jet that was stuck in a fake pond.  Then you could walk in to this jungle area made out of spray painted water bottles and there was Luke Skywalker and a head on the ground that he must have shot off!!!  After the jungle there was Hans Solo and Guido sitting on a chair talking to each other.  Also there was the Star Wars Cantina band and it was actually playing the music out of a boom box!  There were Storm  Troopers everywhere hiding behind stuff.  They even made this really cool Chewbacca out of the end of mops and painted them brown.  There was also Princess Leia holding a bomb and a gun and Jabba the Hut! Then we walked to the end were there was Darth Vader and Obi Wan Kenobi and the Emperor.  Clearly they had every character from all the episodes!  Then we went home and went to bed.

Festa Major de Gracia!!!

Gracia Festival Opening Ceremonies and Parade
The Fire Devils with their giant burning wands.  Cool!
My dad was part of the Fire Parade!!!

Getting dressed up for our special visitors - Grumps and Nat!

Checking out the streets

Second parade and CANDY
Festive streets

Rubix cube street
Today is the first day of the Gracia Festival!!!!!!!!!!!.  First in the morning there was the opening ceremony parade with giants and music players and even people playing with fire!  There was one really cool part when the fire guy came up to my dad and took him in the parade with a pole on fire:):):)!!!!!  Also there were these really loud guns that went off that kind of hurt my ears!  After the parade we went home and put on some weird costumes to greet Grumps and Nat who are here to visit us. It was funny! Then we went out and looked at streets with them and saw another parade.  In this parade there were big trucks and people threw huge handfuls of candy at everybody.  Some even hit people in the head!  After we looked at more of the streets.  They were very cool.  I love the Star Wars street!  We stopped for dinner in the Plaza and then we went home and just talked and played the iPad. Then we went to bed.

Mini fair

Yahoo!  A fair at the end of our street!

It's The Claaaaaaaw!
This morning we got up and went to camp. At the camp we took a bus to the Parc de la Crueta del Coll...the same beach we already went to by ourselves! Everybody had to wear glowing green shirts.  They are our sponsor shirts.  At the beach we played some ping pong because my friend Arturro brought a ball and two rackets.  Then we went swimming and played splash wars.  When we were done swimming we took the bus back and went home. At home we had lunch and a rest and watched some of the Two Towers.  Then we went out and looked at some of the streets for the festival because it starts tomorrow.  They looked very cool!  Also there was a little carnival near our house.  We went on some rides and played some games.  Mia won a Raging Rabbit with the claw and she gave it to me! When we got home my parents went out to see a jazz show down in the Plaza Reial and Mia and I stayed home and went to bed. Adios mi amigos!

First day of summer camp!

Hanging out with Mia in Placa del Sol

Today we started the summer camp which is every day of the week this week except for Wednesday (when the Festival starts)!  It goes from 9AM until 2PM.  It was so hard to get up at 9AM! Even though that doesn’t sound very early people stay up realllllly late here and then get up later too. At the camp the kids started to get to know each other. There is at least 50 kids! First we played bowling. When we were bowling I got the third highest score of everyone!!  But then on the next round…I got the LOWEST score of everyone.  On the second round I was in the middle.  Then we went to the gym and I was so happy because I could do some gymnastics. We played basketball and handball (which is soccer with your hand).  Then we had free time so I started doing back hand springs on the gym floor with no matt which is the first time I’ve done something like that.  My friend (his name sounds something like “Hoda Hoda”) tried to do it and was pretty good too. We also went swimming!  We were so tired after gymnastics that we took a long break when we came home and only went out a bit more.  My parents picked out three fish at the local market and my mom prepared them as part of our dinner after my dad chopped their heads off. We started the second part of Lord of the Rings – The Two Towers. It's goooood!

Getting ready for the Festa Major de Gracia

You can't even play soccer in the squares anymore cuz they are filled with decorations!

This is going to look cool!
Weird!  What are they going to do with those chairs???
Today we walked around our neighbourhood and watched everyone preparing the amazing decorations for the Gracia Festival which starts in a few days.  The streets looked FAB-U-LOUS!!! There is a Star Wars theme street and a wild west street and a Zeus (lightning and heaven) street and one street with a bunch of weird boxes that I’m not sure what it was. There is also a street with some colored panels hanging in the air that looks really cool.  I also played some soccer in the Placa  del Sol. We also spent some time at our flat having a dance party.  One of the main albums that we are listening to is the Frank Ocean album – it seems to make my parents happy! I’ve put a link to one of the songs below.  By the way we finished the first part of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

Bogatella Beach

The bakery!

Climbing at the beach

Showing off my muscles
Beach Day!  Today we took the metro to an area called Barceloneta to go to a bakery that is really popular.  I got a croissant and we got some pizza to share.  We also got some treats to take to THE BIG city beach – it was totally awesome!!   We actually went to a beach called Bogatella which was a little less busy.  The coolest part was that on the boardwalk there were different types of work-out equipment anyone could use.  I was the only kid doing the chin-ups!!  There was also this big humonguous rope and playground that you can climb to the top.  We had a race and I beat Mia because I have mad skillsJ  Just kidding – it was actually a close race.  After we walked for a long time all along the beach boardwalk and found…more workout equipment.  Once again I was the only kid doing chin-ups!  Then we went home and started the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.  I’d like to tell you about it, but I don’t want to give any of the parts away for those who haven’t seen it!  Adios!

Playa del Eixample

The beach is in the middle of the city!

Cool graffit
Today we went out to a strange city beach with my Mom while my Dad did work.  At the beach we found some friends.  Their names were Yaixa and Javier – they were from England and spoke English and we had fun together playing tag. Then we explored our neighborhood some more and came back to the flat for dinner.  By the way, my Mom and Dad (and sometimes me and Mia a little bit) have been doing daily morning yoga!  I was surprised about how it is very painful!! The instructor said “you have to be comfortable being uncomfortable”????!!  I’ve posted a link below if you want to try. Ciao
