Lola! |
Today we woke up and drove to Playa Avellanas. On the way to the
beach the road was horrid! It was called The Monkey Trail and it was soooo bumpy and dusty! When we got to the beach we looked for our surf teacher, Mauricio. First we practiced how to stand up on the boards on land and then we went in to the water. On my first try I didn't get up right away and when the
big wave stopped I stood up. I did that a couple times until Mauricio told me to do one push and then stand up. After a couple rounds I went one last time.
That last time I got up right away and went super fast and didn't fall off. I
thought I was as good as a 4-year old who had been surfing since he was 2. After surfing we went up to the beach bar and
had lunch with Sandra, Lori and John. At the bar I got a fruit smoothie and
nachos. After lunch Lori, John and Sandra left and Mia and I made
a plan to go into the waves and all the way down the beach. At the end of the beach there were a
lot of cool shells. We saw Mom coming after us and thought she was going to tell us it was time to go too, so we ran even farther up the beach. When Mom found us she said that she wasn't trying to tell
us that we had to go but that the bar's big pig Lola was going for a swim!!!
When we got back to our spot on the beach the pig was already back in its pen.
Later on we met some friends. Their names were Kai, Stevie and… Mia!!?! We played hide
and go seek with them until it was time to go.
Cool fact: on the
way to the beach we had to drive through five rivers!
